Painting has always been a part of my artwork. From gesture drawings to acrylic canvas, I have tried to render the feeling, texture and tension of life. Charcoal is an essential part of this two dimensional process. It has a quality that can be manipulated and blended into other mediums. Somehow it always has a place in my projects. And for me Art is always about exploring the relationship between medium and message, (thank you Marshall wherever you are). I've worked with the traditional materials of stone, clay, paint, charcoal and pencil as well as some that are much less common such as enamel spray paint, acid for glass etching, scrap metal, homemade paper and for the past few years, steel wiremesh for sculpture. |
