This series of landscapes comes from observation, memory and the resonance of shapes and colors that continually play on my visual thoughts and feelings.
Mono-Transfer (Strappo) is a combination of painting and printmaking, a monotype. First an acrylic painting is developed and painted on a clear glass plate. The work is developed in reverse. Spatial relationships of foreground and background shift as the piece is completed. When the image is fully formed and dry, to thicken the acrylic skin, successive layers of acrylic gesso are added. The image on the glass is then transferred by adhering the work to paper and pealing off the glass. The process can also include collage elements.
